Though not on my initial list of places to stop,
my route happened to pass right next to Shenandoah Caverns
in Virginia. This cave is probably best known for the
translucent, ribbon like "bacon" formations.
This cave has extensive lighting. Some of the lights used
have color filters producing an interesting visual
experience. Images of some of the formations were captured
without using a flash showing the artificial lighting colors.
For some of the pictures a flash was used which shows a
more accurate natural coloration.
